Marathon Healthcare Center of Norwalk's behavioral health program is geared toward the client needing behavioral management and training. Our clients are fully assessed upon admission and a personalized plan of care is developed by our interdisciplinary team of caregivers. This plan of care will ensure that each client is assisted in reaching his or her maximum potential.
Most of our behavioral health clients have long-standing psychiatric diagnoses, and many begin their stay on our secured behavioral health unit. On that unit, which has specially trained staff, each client receives the care and supervision they require in a structured environment.
Fun activities are an important part of life for all of the residents of our facility, especially those in the behavioral health program. Daily recreational activities are offered and each client is encouraged to participate to the best of his or her ability.
Our clients are also encouraged to attend the group and individual counseling which is held in the facility.
A transitional program is also offered to appropriate clients whose goals are to return to the community. Many people have successfully transitioned from our secured behavioral unit to the general population of the facility, then to the community with supportive services.
