Care at Marathon

Because the care for each of our residents is very personal and specific, we pride ourselves on providing a wide range of services to accommodate all of their needs. From short-term physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation treatments to long-term convalescent care, Marathon residents benefit from skilled services provided by our talented and deeply dedicated staff. We have a Medical Director and Registered Nurses on staff at each facility, plus offer the opportunity to consult with other community physicians as desired or needed.

Our services vary from center to center to match the needs of the community, but throughout the Marathon Healthcare Centers, our residents receive:

Rehabilitation Therapies
For those who have had surgery and need to overcome physical impairments or re-train their bodies, we have Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists on staff.
Recuperation
Providing the time and medical supervision for those who have undergone surgery so they can return home when they are ready.
Sub-acute Nursing Services
Easing the transition from hospital to home, these services include dysphasia, IV, oxygen therapies, ostomy care, respiratory care, pain management, wound care, and more.
Long-Term Care
For those who can no longer care for themselves and whose families do not have the medical training necessary to care for their loved ones, Marathon can provide the care he or she requires.
Behavioral and Alzheimer's Care
Sensitive professionals who understand the needs and challenges associated with caring for special individuals having mental/behavioral conditions.
Palliative Care
Palliative Care, also called comfort care, is primarily directed at providing relief to a terminally-ill person through symptom and pain management. Our specialized program addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of both the resident and their families.
Nursing and Personal Care
Designed to handle the specific Medical and daily living needs of our residents. Registered Nurses, Vocational Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants are there to help both residents and their families as they adjust their schedules and routines to accommodate the transition to a Marathon center.
Social Workers
Helping to coordinate individualized care for our residents, these professionals can explain policies, procedures, and services to both resident and families.
Dining Services
Our staff dietician assures that each resident maintains a healthy, satisfying and well rounded diet which is consistent with their individual medical conditions.
On-Site Medical Director
Trained in leading and guiding the overall care teams, our Medical Directors serve as an intermediary with acute care hospitals that cared for our residents prior to them joining our family.
